It's Up To You To Define Boone County!

Boone County Government Center
Janet Thompson overseeing elections at the NACo Annual Conference
As the Primary Election quickly approaches, we are literally bombarded with media ads, escalated to a new absurd level, touting their extremist MAGA credentials and vowing to deport “illegal immigrants”, stop China, and shoot their AR-15s. Is this really what Missouri has become? I know it is not what Boone County needs or wants!
Boone County government exists to serve its citizens, provide for their safety, increase economic opportunity, ensure non-discrimination, and enhance quality of life, all within a regulatory environment including minimal restrictions that are reasonable and fair for everyone.
That is the county government I support. That is the county government I pledge to continue enacting as County Commissioner, with the integrity and civil discourse that you expect of your elected officials.
On August 6th, I hope you will send a message that says you agree by voting for Janet Thompson on the Democratic ballot; then, as we quickly turn to our campaign for the General Election, I hope that you can help counter the pro-MAGA PAC money sure to flood my opponent’s campaign.
Please follow my website at thompson4boone.com to learn more about me, stay updated on the campaign, read past newsletters, and—should you wish to help—contribute to my re-election.
______________
Boone County’s Involvement in NACo

Concluding my term as Chair of the Credentials Committee, I was honored to oversee the 2024 election of NACo officers and delegates at their recent national conference in Hillsboro County, Florida.
It is through our connection with NACo that several of our county initiatives and grant opportunities have emerged. It is time well-spent for the people of Boone as we benefit from the ideas of other counties around the country and share our best practices with them in return.
