September 22, 2024 - The ability to look into the future and anticipate what Boone County will need is a skill that is essential to the position of County Commissioner. If these needs are ignored, the citizens of this county may suffer from a lack of housing and utility services, which could seriously impact the opportunity for economic growth while preserving those quality of life measures we most desire. Janet Thompson and the rest of the Boone County Commission are thinking about the next steps for the county through the Boone County Master Plan. The development of the Master Plan requires both projections of where this county will be in the next decade as well as current concerns of community members regarding its limitations, such as a lack of affordable housing and infrastructure needs.
